Delivery Policy
COURIER
For flower deliveries in the Wellington region, we use Sub 60 floral couriers, and on occasion we also have our own in-house delivery service.
SUCCESSFUL DELIVERY
Our couriers do their best to provide timely and accurate deliveries. The courier will deliver to the address as specified. If nobody is home and it safe to leave the delivery, the courier will do so and this will be considered as being delivered successfully.
UNSUCCESSFUL DELIVERY
If the order cannot be delivered the first time (nobody home & not safe to leave or the property does not have access) you will be required to pay for the second delivery fee. The Wild Flower will not cover the charge of your second delivery. We will be in touch with you to arrange another delivery.
DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS/CONTACT INFO
To avoid any delays, customers must provide specific delivery instructions if the delivery address is difficult to get to, or not clearly marked or numbered. It is recommended that you provide the recipients phone number should the courier have any difficulty, especially for deliveries to apartments or gated units where the courier’s access is limited. If you do not wish the recipient to be contacted you need to provide alternative contact details.
INCORRECT ADDRESS
Customers must ensure they have provided the correct address for the recipient. Please note, the courier will leave the delivery at the specified address if it is safe to leave. The Wild Flower is not responsible for deliveries to the wrong address if incomplete or incorrect information was provided. No refunds will be provided. In some cases, the resident of the incorrect address provided will call us to let us know they didn't order the flowers they have received, but we cannot guarantee this happening or that we will be able to recover the flowers for you.
In the event that an incorrect address has been given, the customer must notify us ASAP. If the order has already gone out for delivery to an incorrect address, we can attempt to intercept the courier and have the order re-delivered at the customer’s expense. If the order has already been delivered to the address specified and we weren’t able to intercept and redirect the courier, we are not obliged to provide a refund.
DELIVERY FEES
Delivery fees will be applied at checkout according to the address provided. It is imperative that the correct address and post code is provided so that the correct rate appears.
Wellington CBD $13, Wellington suburbs $17.00, Hutt Valley & Porirua $21.00 and Kapiti Coast $35. For rural deliveries we charge a minimum of $60 at checkout but further charges may apply, calculated by distance (kms). Our team will call you should this be the case.
For Saturday deliveries, we charge $25. Please note we are unable to deliver to Kapiti Coast or rural addresses on weekends.
ADDITIONAL DELIVERY FEE
In some cases, an additional delivery fee will be charged if an order has to be delivered more than once.
Some examples of this include:
- Recipient is not home and it is not safe to leave the delivery.
- Address is an apartment or gated unit and the courier has no way to access the property, and no contact phone number of the recipient has been provided by the customer.
- An incorrect delivery address was provided.
In the event of an additional delivery fee being required we will contact you and notify you of this.
SAME DAY DELIVERY
We offer same day delivery for residential orders placed before 3pm and business addresses by 1pm. Deliveries to business addresses placed after 1pm may incur an extra delivery fee. Our team will be in touch should this apply. The areas included for same day delivery include: Wellington, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, Porirua, Kapiti Coast, Otaki.
We endeavour to deliver flowers and gifts on the agreed delivery date, however The Wild Flower is not liable for any late deliveries due to foreseen or unforeseen circumstances.
TIMED DELIVERIES
Our courier delivers throughout the day and we can't guarantee exact delivery times.
If no one will be home during the day and you would prefer late afternoon delivery please give us 24 hours notice and add this to the order notes. If you require a specific delivery time earlier in the day please do the same. An additional urgent delivery charge may be required depending on the time specified. Our team will be in touch should this be the case.
We will always do our best to accommodate your needs, however we are not liable for any late deliveries due to unforeseen circumstances.
If the flowers are for an event (for example, a wedding, funeral or business function), a specific time is often required and we will do our best to ensure the delivery is on time. An additional delivery charge may be required.
DELIVERIES TO APARTMENTS/GATED UNITS
The customer must provide the recipients phone number so we can call the recipient before we attempt delivery to ensure they are home to receive the delivery.This is because apartments or gated units are usually not accessible to the courier and it is usually not safe for them to leave the delivery unattended. We will not attempt delivery until we have confirmation from the recipient. If we do attempt delivery and the flowers cannot be delivered to the apartment or gated unit, you will be required to pay for a second delivery fee.
DELIVERY TO HOSPITALS
It is important that we are given the correct first and last name of the recipient. We will always make a courtesy call to the hospital before delivery to ensure that the patient can be located within the hospital. Your flowers will be delayed if the hospital is unable to locate the patient due to incorrect details. Please note that some hospital wards do not allow flowers due to health risks (e.g. intensive care).
DELIVERY OUTSIDE WELLINGTON REGION
The Wild Flower can deliver to Palmerston North, but we do require 48 hours notice.
For nationwide deliveries, it is best to call us in store with your requirements and we will let you know whether we can cater to them.
Gift items are available for delivery nationwide.
SATURDAY DELIVERIES
The Wild Flower offers Saturday delivery for $25. Please note that orders need to be in by 5pm Friday to ensure Saturday delivery.
Unfortunately we cannot currently offer delivery to Kapiti Coast or rural addresses on weekends.
SUNDAY AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
We do not deliver on Sundays or public holidays, with the exception of Mother’s Day Sunday and Valentines Day (if it falls on a Sunday).
Deliveries requested for Sunday or a public holiday will be delivered the following business day.
RURAL DELIVERIES
If rural delivery is required, call our friendly staff and we will try to arrange this for you.
If ordering through the website, you will be charged a minimum $60 rural delivery fee and further charges may apply, calculated by distance (kms). Our team will be in touch should this be required.
Please note, any rural deliveries will take longer to deliver, so please allow an extra 24-72 hours.
URGENT DELIVERIES
If you require a last minute delivery, please call us on 04 210 0799 to discuss and we will do our best to arrange a delivery as quickly as possible. An urgent courier fee may apply.
