Check with the ward first
Rules on flowers vary between hospitals and wards, and they can change. Many wards, such as intensive care (ICU) and oncology, often don't allow flowers. Please check with the ward, or with the patient's family, before you order.
If flowers aren't allowed, you could send them to the patient's home for when they return, or choose a potted plant if the ward allows plants. Plants go by courier for a $20 flat fee, so allow a little extra time.
Tips for hospital deliveries
- Include the patient's full name and, if you know them, their ward and room number.
- Add a phone number for the patient or a family member in case we need to check details.
- Choose a compact bouquet. Bedside tables are small and shared rooms are tight on space.
- Go for low-scent flowers. Strong perfumes, such as lilies, can bother other patients. Tulips are a lovely low-scent choice.
- Deliveries are often received at reception or the ward desk, so staff may take the flowers to the bedside for us.

Delivery times
