Sympathy flowers, delivered with care

When someone you care about has lost a loved one, flowers are a gentle way to say you're thinking of them. The Wild Flower hand-arranges sympathy bouquets in our Wellington shop and delivers them across the region, to family homes and to funeral homes and service venues.

Order by 3pm on a weekday for same-day delivery. If the flowers need to arrive before a service, please call us on 04 210 0799 so we can plan the timing with you.

Our sympathy flowers

Our sympathy collection brings together bouquets and arrangements chosen for condolences. For a quiet, respectful gesture, the Neutral and Pastel bouquets are also lovely choices.

We don't currently make wreaths, casket sprays or standing sprays. If you have something particular in mind, please call us to talk it through.

Sending flowers to a funeral

Check the funeral notice for the venue, date and service time, and for any wishes from the family. Some families ask for donations to a charity instead of flowers.

Flowers for a service should arrive a few hours before it starts. In your order, include the name of the person who has died, the venue and the service time. If the service is today or early tomorrow, call us so we can confirm what's possible.

Sending flowers to the family home

A bouquet sent to the home is often the most personal choice, especially if you can't be at the service. Many people send flowers in the days after the funeral, or a week or two later, when the first wave of support has quietened and the family may appreciate it most.

What to write on a sympathy card

Keep it short and sincere. A few ideas:

  • "Thinking of you all, with love."
  • "With deepest sympathy. [Name] will be dearly missed."
  • "Holding you close in our thoughts at this sad time."
  • "Remembering [Name] with love and gratitude."

Sign with your full name if the family may not know you well, and name the team or group for a shared gift.

Delivery timing

  • Weekdays: order by 3pm for same-day delivery.
  • Saturdays: order by 7:30am for same-day delivery.
  • Sundays: no regular delivery, except special occasions such as Mother's Day.
  • Urgent or timed deliveries: call 04 210 0799.

Can you deliver to a funeral home today?
Often, yes. Order by 3pm on a weekday, and call us if the flowers must arrive before a set service time.

Do you make wreaths or casket sprays?
Not at the moment. Our sympathy bouquets and arrangements suit both homes and services, and you're welcome to call about custom requests.

Can I send sympathy flowers from overseas?
Yes. Order online with the delivery address and your card message, and we'll take care of the rest.
